The short version: we use the storage needed to run the site, keep you logged in, and understand how the site is used. We don't build cross-site advertising profiles or run remarketing.
What we use
- Essential (authentication): if you log in, Firebase Authentication stores a secure token in your browser so you stay signed in. Without it, accounts can't work.
- Functional (local storage): small preferences and, if you're offline, a temporary queue for form submissions so nothing is lost. This stays on your device.
- Analytics: Google Analytics (GA4) sets a cookie such as
_gato measure how many people use the site and which pages help, so we can improve and reach more young people. We also measure whether our ads lead to actions like signing up or donating. - Fonts: we load fonts from Google Fonts, which may set standard delivery cookies from your browser's request.
What we don't use
No cross-site behavioral advertising profiles, and no Meta, TikTok, or other social-media tracking pixels. We run Google Ads only to measure conversions, and we enable Google's Consent Mode with ad storage off by default — so ad-targeting cookies aren't set unless you ever choose to allow them. For a mental-health site, that's a deliberate choice.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, login-based features won't work, but the rest of the site will.
